I've got a completely useless valet key. You just have to unlock the doors with it, and then go inside and unlock it again from the inside and then voila your trunk is in their hands.

I think Aston Martin still has valet keys. Cars like the Challenger Hellcat have valet modes, or you'd upload a suitable tune onto cars like the WRX by using a COBB Accessport or something.

Wow, that's...not really a helpful valet key, is it?

Not at all.

That's why I handle valets by giving them the wrong key, and ditching my car as quick as possible and then promptly disappearing. That's whenever I have to use a valet, which isn't often.

The keys I have to My dad's 2000 odyssey and My mom's 2010 CRV are both valet keys

Not a fan of the valet either, I just don't like handing over my ride to some random dude. Especially when it's something special.

My Safari has one, the Vue and Silverado don't though.

My dads new Buick never came with one, then again you could just fold down the rear seats to get into the trunk.. I guess the other benefit of a valet key is if they lose it you still have your main keys to get home.

Same, My car isn't exactly special. I always keep track of how many miles were on the car when I hand it over. It shouldn't be five miles to park a car.

I've only used a valet about five times, at hotels and restaurants.

Your dad drives an Odyssey? Marriage sounds worse and worse everyday.

My Tipo has one, and it's old and cheap and it probably had no reason to come with a valet key hahahaah...

I have no clue what it does. You can't lock the glovebox in the van.

My mom bought it new when my brother and I were in elementary school. My dad works 30 miles away and takes public transit, so its my dad's because it gets bad gas mileage and gets driven seldom.

I had a Cavalier wagon and the only thing that it prevented access to was the gas cap.

One time I rolled up to a hotel in an NSX, and asked where the self-parking was. The valet really, really, really wanted to park the car for me. As I was politely declining, my friend looked at the valet and said, "no thanks, we've seen Ferris Bueller's Day Off."

Oh, to be that quick.

Did they think that was the most valuable thing people kept in a Cavalier wagon?

My JSW has one and its a normal style key not the switchblade style keyfobs that are the "normal" keys. Believe it is also unable to unlock the glovebox.

Passats do; it locks the trunk and glovebox. I miss valet keys like the ZR-1 had that deactivated half the spark plugs.

Have a friend whose father daily drove a Sienna of the same vintage, while the mother drove a Tercel, then a Corolla. it's just backwards. The guy has a LEAF now.
